Here's a GORGEOUS video of one of the sweetest brides I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She had a pretty large wedding party so I was unable to accommodate everyone's hair AND makeup so I pointed her in the direction of one of the best salons in Durham, 140 Salon, to help! They let me come in and work on the bride and bridal party while they worked on hair. SWEET DEAL! Damien Maass shot the video and I am so so thrilled to share it with you! Congratulations Jacq and Matt! Had so much fun working with you lovebirds!
A wedding I had the pleasure of doing hair and makeup for a while back got featured on Borrowed and Blue! Tina lives in Hawaii and wanted to bring a Hawaii theme to her wedding in Brooklyn, where she's from originally. The photos are killer thanks to Betsi Ewing! Check it out here - https://www.borrowedandblue.com/brooklyn/weddings/tina-jimmy
I booked a trip home for the holidays and I thought why not offer my services while I'm there? The response was pretty overwhelming and I am so thankful to have clients all over the nation! Here are a few before and after microblading photos from Honolulu. Thank you to all who booked with me! Stay tuned for return dates!
Hard work pays off! Today I received the couples choice award from WeddingWire!
" WeddingWire Couples' Choice Awards® recipients represent the top five percent of wedding professionals on WeddingWire who demonstrate excellence in quality, service, responsiveness, and professionalism."
Thank you all so much! xoxoxoxo
A very personal post here, guys. Last January, Matt and I took our annual trip back to Hawai'i. We decided it would be fun and romantic for the two of us to take a trip to Kauai. We stayed with friends and family in Kilauea in a little shack in their garden that they called, "The Love Shack". Hilarious. Kauai is by far the most beautiful island with its lush green mountain and its cliffs framing the ocean. Remember Jurassic Park? Yeah. If you haven't been, GO.
We had a full day of hiking along the Na Pali coast on the Kalalau Trail and eating the FRESHEST sushi (who knew it would come from a place called SushiGirl) I have ever had and decided to end our day with a quick trip to Queens Bath. I completely forgot about the winter swells on the north shore so the waves were crashing almost on top of us. We set our stuff down to watch the waves - deeming it impossible to even get close to Queens Bath that day. The waves were getting higher and closer and I started to freak out. I told him we should leave or we'll get swept out. He was shaking and fumbling in his backpack. I asked him if he was all right because he looked a little sick. Then, honestly to my surprise, he bent down on one knee and told me how much he loved me and if I would marry him. Of course! I had been thinking about this moment for so long the answer seemed so simple. Yes. YES! I smiled. Yes, of course. The ring was perfect - a dainty, vintage diamond with brilliant sapphire accents. The fact that he chose something so unique and unconventional to the traditional "magazine" ring told me how much he really knew me. I never disclosed what kind of ring I wanted. Only that I wanted something that no one else has. Nailed it!
My best friends helped us create timeless engagement photos. My best friend Risa did my hair and makeup, Makoto shot video, Mel took photos and Bradley styled us. We got up early and got ready and drove out to Haleiwa. Talk about having the best day ever. I was on cloud nine! Surrounded by some of my closest shooting photos for my engagement to the love of my life. I have never felt so special! I love you guys!

I was contacted by a girl in Virginia who wanted to get her eyebrows microbladed by me here in Durham! She wanted a natural brow that she could "wake up and go" with or apply minimal makeup if needed. We had so much fun creating this look!
One of our favorite couples, Andy and Linda, are tying the knot in September! Here are some of my faves from their engagement shoot in Charlotte, NC where they live with their two giant fur babies. And by babies...I mean two GIANT Great Danes. Congratulations Andy and Linda!
And now for a peek behind the scenes!
Had so much fun on this shoot, snapping polaroids in between takes!
If you don't know me, I love to travel. New Orleans is one of favorite places in the U.S. - full of rich history and amazing food and music. From murky swamp waters to upscale restaurants, you will never be bored in New Orleans.
Hi guys! I am very excited to announce that I've expanded my business to semi permanent makeup, a modern technique called Microblading, and I will be starting to take clients out of my studio this week! #proudmama

Cosmetic tattooing, also referred to as semi-permanent makeup or micro-pigmentation or more commonly known as "microblading", is the manual process of implanting pigments into the upper layers of the skin using "brushstrokes" that mimic the appearance of real hair. Because of the placement in your skin and by using pigments instead of ink, these fine lines fade over time (about a year) back to your natural brow shape! I apprenticed while I was back in Honolulu and was given the opportunity to try it out for myself.
This is Aviva, her brows were naturally very sparse and had their own unique shape. She wanted them to be fuller and she showed me pictures of her brows when she pencils them in (every morning!). She has told me that this process has cut her morning routine in half! Thank you Aviva!
I was so excited to do her brows that I completely forgot to take a before photo!
I was so happy to recover these images again so I could have these up on the blog!
Back in 2013, I was asked to create the makeup look for KITH NYC for the summer lookbook.
